Prayer women gives to school

“We sow the seed of hope among the disadvantaged and we believe that the best seed in one’s life should be sown in education.

eMBALENHLE – Maranatha Women Manyano, a women’s organisation under the Methodist Church in South Africa, recently launched a bursary fund to help needy pupils.

They adopt pupils from Grade R to Grade 12 from various schools in the area and have handed over school uniforms to about 70 pupils.

Ms Emma Maseko, Christian Citizenship secretary, said: “It is time that the church arise and make a difference in the community, especially in giving.

“Our theme says give hope to children in distress.

“We sow the seed of hope among the disadvantaged and we believe that the best seed in one’s life should be sown in education.

“We are giving uniforms because we do not want any child to feel different from others.

“We ask residents to join forces with us and donate anything as we reach out to the needy.”

Maranatha Women Manyano visited Shapeve Primary School on Thursday, 23 January and handed over school uniforms to 10 pupils.
