Ermelo Provincial Hospital in partnership with the Department of Health hosted the CEO’s awards recently at the Gert Sibande District Municipality.
The purpose of the awards was to reward different departments that have excelled in service delivery, upheld the service standards and went an extra mile in servicing their communities.
Ermelo Hospital CEO, Ms FBG Nyathi, mentioned that patients must always come first.
“We must strive to live the spirit of Batho Pele, love our clients as if they are our own brothers and sisters,” said Ms Nyathi.
The biggest achievement went to three departments that outshone everyone else: radiology, Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) and surgical wards.
The departments were evaluated according to the seven domains of the National Core Standards.
