Mpumalanga Bulldog Club will be hosting the first bulldog show of its kind in Secunda

The Mpumalanga Bulldog Club was formed in June by a few local people.

They will be hosting the first bulldog show of its kind in Secunda on Saturday, 30 September.

The show will take place at Holfontein Farm outside Trichardt and competitors and visitors are welcome.

Anybody who owns a bulldog in Secunda and surrounding areas are welcome to enter their dogs for the show.

The day will be fun-filled with an expectation of about 70 bulldogs and entertainment in the form of a jumping castle for the children.

The Bulldog Club focuses on a specific breed, namely only bulldogs.

There will be 12 different categories and male and female bulldogs are entered separately for the show.

There will also be specific categories for puppy bulldogs.

The judges will be looking at the dogs’ general appearance, including their teeth and ears, as well as their posture and the way they carry themselves.

Visitors can watch the show for free and there will be sessions on how to groom a bulldog for the show as well as how to handle the dog.

Visitors are also welcome to attend these sessions before the show free of charge.

There will also be categories for children to enter their bulldogs and there will be prizes for everyone.

There will be food stalls and stalls selling bulldog souveniers.

Visitors must take their own chairs to the show that begins at 9am.

There will also be a lucky draw on the day for two prizes of a midweek getaway at Cystal Springs.

The club is now selling tickets for the lucky draw.
