Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club confirms that an electrical fire occurred in the ceiling above a small section of the gaming area at 11.15am today.

The sprinkler system deployed and extinguished the fire within a short time.

According to Ms Samantha Robinson, spokesperson for the resort said: “Graceland management would like to reassure visitors and loyal patrons that their safety is always of paramount concern and we pride ourselves in this regard.”

The hotel and casino were evacuated as part of the safety precautions, and no one was injured.

Although some guests were inconvenienced during the procedural evacuation, it can now be confirmed that there were no injuries to any guests or staff. “We are currently assessing the damage to the affected section as quickly as possible, to ensure its re-opening,” explained Ms Robinson.

The rest of the casino is fully operational and it is “business as usual” she concluded.
