Part of N17 highway will be closed this Saturday and Sunday

The N17 highway will be closed on Saturday and Sunday to allow for construction work on a new pedestrian bridge.

HIGHVELD – The N17 highway will be closed on Saturday and Sunday to allow for construction work on a new pedestrian bridge.

The South African National Roads agency warned motoristst that the N17 Westbound to Wemmerpan Road would be closed from 7am to 5pm on Saturday, 1 July.

The N17 Eastbound to Germiston will be closed on Sunday, 2 July.

To avoid delays, road users are urged to deviate from their normal routes and use alternate routes.

Motorists travelling west on the N17 on Saturday, 1 July, will not be able to use the N17 after the Vickers Road off-ramp.

The alternate route is:
Take the Vickers Road off-ramp and turn left into Vickers Road at the traffic signal and proceed southwards towards North Road.
Turn right at North Road traffic signal and continue westwards towards Wemmer Pan Road.
Motorists travelling east on the N17 on Sunday, 2 July will not be able to use the N17 from Wemmer Pan Road.
The alternate route is :
Continue southwards along Wemmer Pan Road towards North Road.
Turn left at North Road traffic signal and proceed eastwards towards Vickers Road.
Turn left at Vickers Road traffic signal and proceed northwards to the N17 on-ramp
