Support the CANSA Relay for Life in Secunda

Sponsorship of any monetary worth or of consumables/goods/services to utilise at the CANSA Relay for Life Secunda is welcome.

The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) is launching a Relay for Life in Secunda on 4-5 March 2017.

CANSA Relay for Life is a unique event offering everyone in a community the opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer.

It represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, those facing cancer will be supported and one day cancer will be conquered.

Sponsorship of any monetary worth or of consumables/goods/services to utilise at the CANSA Relay for Life Secunda is welcome.

What is the CANSA Relay for Life event about?

Relay for Life is a fun, overnight team event that raises awareness of cancer and raises much needed funds to fight cancer.

The event is volunteer driven and community owned.

During the relay, teams of 10-15 friends, neighbours, families and co-workers commit to keeping at least one member of the team walking the track at all times because cancer never sleeps.

Each team member submits an entry fee and is encouraged to raise a target to support CANSA’s prevention, education, early detection, advocacy and patient care programmes in the region that the Relay is being held (Cosmos region).

Teams set up camp around the track before the CANSA Relay for Life event opens with the moving Survivors Lap of Honour.

After sunset, the candles are lit in the Luminaria bags that encircle the track. Everyone gathers round to play tribute and remember those lost to cancer, support those fighting cancer and rejoice with those who have fought the disease and won.
