SPCA closed due to rain

The public is warned not to attempt to drive to the Highveld Ridge SPCA until the weather has improved and the road has dried up.

HIGHVELD – The Highveld Ridge SPCA is closed to the public until further notice.

This is due to the rain that has caused severe damage to the dirt road leading to the SPCA offices and kennels.

“Although the animals at the kennels are safe, dry and warm, we cannot risk the public’s cars getting stuck or damaged,” said senior inspector Jenneth Geel earlier today.

The public can still call the SPCA emergency number for animals in distress, or take stray animals that they are unable to keep to Bethal SPCA.

Once the rain has stopped and the road is accessible again, the SPCA will reopen to the public.
