Child abductor still at large.

SECUNDA – The Secunda Family Violence and Sexual Offences Unit of the police are looking for a child abducting gang.

A four-man gang allegedly abducted a 12-year-old boy on 14 June in AD Keet Street.

The child is a pupil at a local school.

He was approached by men driving a grey Golf with the letters GTI in front and no registration plates at the back of the car, but the letters TSI were visible.

A passenger got out of the front of the car and asked the boy for directions.

While the boy complied, the car reversed and another passenger got out of the back.

He grabbed the boy while covering his mouth and shoved him in the boot of the car.

The boy said he felt the car moving and then stopping for a long time, but his abductors did not take him out of the boot.

Only after driving for a long time again, the car stopped in the vicinity of the Secunda Graveyard.

The same two men that shoved him into the boot, opened the boot and grabbed him and took him out.

He was told to undress and to keep his underwear and socks on.

One of the men pushed him down and he rolled on the ground.

He heard the men saying they were going to cut him to pieces.

The boy managed to kick one of the men in the chest.

When the man lost his balance, he fell on top of his accomplice.

The boy then managed to run away and escaped the attackers.

The men chased after him for about 1 to 2km in the direction of a gravel road.

A taxi driver saw the boy, opened his taxi’s door and instructed the boy to run towards traffic officers who were on duty at the four-way stop near Graceland.

The officers took the boy to the Secunda Police Station where his parents were contacted.

W/O Luka Mahlangu said: “Parents must make children aware of the dangers involving strangers.

“Teach them not to respond or attend to strangers approaching them.

“Obviously this is a gang related to other more serious crimes and we do not know when and where they will strike again.”

If you have any information or know where this man is contact W/O Mahlangu on 083 660 2473.
