Roads and routes impacted by Vehicle Hijacking

Please take note of information below with regards to Vehicle Hijacking.

Ø Roads and routes currently impacted are:

The Kriel/Kinross road towards Secunda.

The Kriel/Delmas road towards Matla Power Station, with the turnoff to Secunda.

This is also taking place in Evander, Secunda and Delmas. The Vaalpan road pass Matla Coal.

Ø Time of the day on which incidents occurred:

Most of the car-jackings occurred on Tuesday between 2.30pm and 7.30pm, but the times have changed to between 10.30am and 12pm

Ø Types of vehicles:

Toyota Fortuners; Toyota D/Cab Bakkies; Ford Ranger D/Cab bakkies- Mostly White

Ø All victims were A/Males and alone in the vehicles

Ø Suspects stop vehicles by flashing lights and pretend to ask for directions to Secunda

Ø When a victim refuse to stop, they will pass the vehicle and come to a dead stop in front of their victims

Ø Community is advised not to stop for anyone and to be on the lookout for any suspicious vehicles, grey V/W Polo’s, White Audi A3 and white V/W GTI’s
