Parkrunners go the distance in Standerton

Three participants improved their personal best times.

The 265th weekly River Park parkrun kicked off with a bang on September 28 when three of the 56 runners improved their own personal best times.

There were also two newcomers to the event. Thabo Patrick Tsotetsi did not only cross the finish line first but also set a personal best of 22:47.

Janko van der Linden finished with a new personal best of 23:47. Pieter Grobbelaar completed the 5km route in a time of 27:18.

Theo Schönveldt finished in 29:09, followed by Thikolelwi Collins Madau (30:08), Jose Joseph (30:51) and Andrew Ainsworth (31:43).

Elmie Vermaak completed the parkrun a time of 32:50.

Collin Thobedi (33:03) was short on her heels, followed by Pungwayo Solomon (34:11), Kobus Koekemoer (39:18) and Dina Grobbelaar (39:36)

The volunteers who made this event possible are Catherine le Roux, Charl van Wyk, Gerhardus le Roux, Johannes Vosloo, Leandri van Wyk, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Lydia Roets, Oreholele Marumo, Preyank Dorasamy, Renette de Sousa, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Sylvy Moodley, TJ Mokone and Zeldine Strydom.
