Evander SAPS launch Youth Desk

Sergeant Zukiswa Mxhotjelwa said its role is to concentrate on crime that affects the youth, to work with the police in the fight against crime and to conduct campaigns to help them learn about police work.

EVANDER – The Evander police launched its Youth Desk on September 25 at the Gert Sibande Tvet College in Evander.

Sergeant Zukiswa Mxhotjelwa said its role is to concentrate on crime that affects the youth, to work with the police in the fight against crime and to conduct campaigns to help them learn about police work.

“They are not going to work alone. The community police official (CPO) of Evander SAPS will help them and they will report to the CPO.

“We told them to be active for the youth that are affected by crime such as smoking and selling drugs.

“To assist the youth that are on drugs or involved in crime, they need to communicate with the CPO, who will assist them and refer them to the relevant department or organisations,” said Mxhotjelwa.
