Learners from high school in Standerton make SA champs team

George Hofmeyr High School recently competed in the Mpumalanga Cross Country Championships, where several of its young girls earned a spot on the SA championship team.

The girls of George Hofmeyr High School (GHHS) participated in the Mpumalanga Cross Country Championships at Hoërskool WH de Klerk in Witbank on August 31.

Seventeen GHHS learners were selected for the SA championships running from September 27 to 29.

Lwandi Mnguni competed in the U14 category, winning the first-place trophy and a spot on the SA championship cross-country team.

Zinhle Mabuso also made the U14 team. Dibuseng Ntsiane, Oratile Mollo and Prosperity Dyani were selected for the U15 team. Bonolo Lekgau, Nomvula Radebe and Asanda Phiri were selected for the U16 team.

The GHHS girls selected for the U17 team are Lesego Mollo, Thulisile Mahlaba, Karabo Tsotetsi and Banele Makhubu.

The U19 girls selected for the SA cross-country championships are Banele Mokoena, Shamim Kananji, Nothando Nkosi, Njabulo Dhladhla and Thabiso Radebe.
