Non-profit organisation hosts golf day in Secunda
GMYGD invites people to play at Graceland Casino, Hotel and Country Club.
The Govan Mbeki Youth Golfers Development (GMYGD), a non-profit organisation, is hosting its annual golf day on September 28 at Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club.
The golf day aims to raise money for the development of young golf players. The day will kick off at 07:00 with registrations and tee-off will begin at 09:00.
Entry fees are R400 per player, R1 600 per four-ball team, R4 000 to sponsor a hole and R5 600 to sponsor a hole and enter a four-ball team.
The GMYGD was founded in 2015 and it aims to develop young boys’ and girls’ golf skills and to help them reach their full potential.

“We also want to enhance their performance in school, distance children from drugs and crime-related issues, help them with their personal development and prepare them for life and encourage them to be positively involved in society,” said one member of GMYGD, Ernest Khumalo.
The GMYGD is supported by the Money Gamers Gold Club and the Marvellous Golf Club in Secunda.
They are seeking sponsors to enable young golf players to take part in team training programs and local and provincial golf tournaments.
The GMYGD is guided by volunteers consisting of coaches, parents and members of the Mpumalanga Golf Union for Junior Golf.

Children can also take part in another golf day hosted by the GMYGD. They will be hosting a day specifically for children between nine and 15 years old on September 20, also at Graceland Hotel, Casino and Country Club.
Any child is welcome to join this day for free and it is an opportunity for children to play golf and get exposure on the golf course.
The GMYGD is still looking for sponsors for food and cold drinks for the juniors’ golf day and prizes in the form of stationery for school.
