New faces complete parkrun in Standerton

Two runners finished the route with new personal best times and 53 participants of all ages participated.

Eleven first-timers joined the 5km route at the Standerton parkrun this weekend. Two runners finished the route with new personal best times and 53 participants of all ages participated.

Ntando Makoba was a first-timer and completed the run in 23:36. Eugene Viljoen had a new personal best of 24:36.

William Abrahams completed the run at 29:00, followed by Thikolelwi Collins Madau (30:07), Patricia Madau (30:20) and Frans Vermaak (31:28).

Jozine Francis obtained a new PB of (31:39).

Andrew Ainsworth completed his dash in 31:52. Elmien Vermaak finished with a time of (32:50), followed by Biju David (33:10).

Mika Rossouw finished her first parkrun in 35:35.

The volunteers who made this event possible are Conrie Roets, Elna Vermaak, Jennifer Naidoo, Johannes Vosloo, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Lydia Roets, Marjorie Uys, Renette da Sousa, Séan Jansen van Rensburg and Sylvy Moodley.

Sylvy Moodley celebrated her 100th event as a parkrun volunteer. The Riverpark parkrun takes place every Saturday at 08:00 in the Standerton Riverpark.
