Organisation hosts golf day at Graceland Country Club in Secunda

The Govan Mbeki youth golfers are also supported by Money Gamers Golf Club and Marvellous Golf Club in Secunda.

The Govan Mbeki Golfers Development (GMYGD) organisation will be hosting its yearly golf day at Graceland Casino, Hotel and Country Club on September 28.

The day will kick off at 07:00 with registration and tee off will be at 09:00. Entry fees are R400 per player, R1 600 per fourball and to sponsor a hole will be R4 000.

GMYGD is a non-profit organisation established in 2015 in eMbalenhle. They aim to develop golf as a sport among children.

They help the children to reach their full potential on the golf course and with sports performance, enhancement of their skills, personal development and to distance the children from drugs and crime-related issues.

Any sponsors’ money or items will be used to enable these young golf players to take part in the team training programs, junior golf games in the Govan Mbeki municipal area and local and provincial golf tournaments.

GMYGD is guided by a volunteer team of coaches, parents and the Mpumalanga Golf Union for Junior Golf.

The Govan Mbeki youth golfers are also supported by Money Gamers Golf Club and Marvellous Golf Club in Secunda.
