eMbalenhle residents fight illegal dumping

Councillor urges residents to stop illegal waste dumping.

DA councillor Anita Mkhwebane led a cleaning campaign at Ext 18, eMbalenhle on July 24. Mkhwebane said the campaign aims to fight illegal dumping and promote a healthy environment.

She said residents are concerned about heaps of garbage on every corner of their neighbourhood. People cannot fold their hands and do nothing about this issue.

“We want to live in a healthy environment, but papers and plastics are all over because of the illegal dumping.

“There are things that do not need the municipality’s intervention, but we, as the community, have to show those dumping waste illegally at night that it is unacceptable,” said Mkhwebane.
