Magistrate withdraws robbery charges against two men in Bethal
Brian Maphosa and Cleopas Ndlovu were remanded in custody after their appearance at Bethal Magistrates Court on May 21.
During a court appearance before the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on May 21, the magistrate ruled that robbery charges be withdrawn against Bukhosibakhe Mtshali (44) and Aron Mlambo (33).
This was because there was no evidence linking them to the offence. However, new charges were brought forward for Mlambo for contravening the Immigration Act.
At the time of going to print, he was due to appear for his plea and formal bail application on May 23. Mlambo was remanded in custody.
Meanwhile, Brain Maphosa (34) and Cleopas Ndlovu (32) also appeared on May 21 on charges of business robbery.
The matter was also postponed to May 23 for a formal bail application. Both Mphosa and Ndlovu were remanded in custody.
Mphosa and Ndlovu are suspects in a business robbery that happened at Ackermans store in Bethal on May 12.
