Three men and a woman arrested for murder of eMbalenhle man

They will appear in the Evander Magistrate's Court on May 15 for a formal bail application.

The eMbalenhle police station management commended a job well done by detectives Captain Fannie Sindane,

Warrant Officer Melusi Mthombeni and Constable Sandile Zondo for voluntarily going out of their policing precinct.

This is after they received tangible information that needed urgent attention about suspects in the murder case of Sifiso Kubheka.

The police have now confirmed the body found in the Roodebank Dam on April 30, was that of Sifiso Kubheka, who was reported missing on April 21.

According to Constable Busi Mthethwa, the eMbalenhle police spokesperson, the dead man’s hands were bound with cable ties and a large rock was tied to his legs with rope. Kubheka’s car was found abandoned along Old Bracken Mine road.

The motive for the kidnapping and murder is still unknown. The police arrested three men and a woman during the early hours of May 7.

They appeared before the Evander Magistrate’s Court on May 9 and the magistrate postponed the case to May 10 to obtain a legal aid application.

The case was again postponed to May 15 for a formal bail application.
