Secure your house and work with police

Police give safety tips.

SECUNDA – The police are concerned about the increase of housebreakings in the area.

W/O Thulani Gamede, spokesman of Secunda Police, said the police are appealing to the community to join forces with them in the fight against crime.

“We advise the community to visit security companies that can help you with security measures such as security fencing (electrical fencing), alarm systems and other security devices to protect your valuable property.

“Know your neighbours and neighbourhood watches can also play a vital role in the commission of the crime by unknown culprits in other related crimes, such as robberies, rapes, murder and theft during housebreakings.

“Crime takes place 24/7, therefore it is imperative to leave somebody in your house when you go away.

“Try by all means not to leave your house unsecured.

“The police ask the community to report valuable information for the purpose of intelligence driven operations to put the criminals where they belong.”
