Bapsfontein Hotel parkrun kick 2024 off to a great start

The Bapsfontein Parkrun promises to be a fun, free event organised by volunteers for the benefit of everyone. It is also a pet friendly event and participants can bring their dogs to join in the fun.

The first of the Bapsfontein parkrun events for 2024 took place on January 6.

The Bapsfontein parkrun is promises to be a fun, free event organized by volunteers for the benefit of everyone. It is also a pet friendly event and participants can bring their dogs to join in the fun.

The event takes place every Saturday morning at 08:00 on the premises of the ever popular and historic Bapsfontein Hotel at 10 Wolmarans Street, Nest Park, extension 1.

According to the events Facebook page the route is anti-clockwise around the inside fenced parameters of the Bapsfontein Hotel grounds with a loop in the middle and returning back clockwise along the perimeter to finish at the start.

People who want to take part in the Bapsfontein Hotel Parkrun or want to join the team of volunteers can send an email to bapsfontein@parkrun.com.

This week’s event was attended by 34 people.

Johannes Petrus Meyer Basson finished first in a time of 21:30, followed by Douw Wolmarans (22:26), Liam Nulty (23:49), Wynand Wolmarans (23:54), Bradley Brand (25:15), Clive Whitlow (28:50), Gordon Lindsay (31:20), Alex Elsworth (33:51), Morné van den Berg (35:59) and Cindy Nel (41:08) in 10th place.

The volunteers who made the event possible, are Amelda Basson, Johannes Petrus Meyer Basson, Demi-Jade Bezuidenhout, Duval Raymond de Kock, Lisa de Kock, Peorina Dell, Mick Grewar, Aubrey Haupfleisch, Gordon Lindsay, Susan Lotter, Liam Nulty, Douw Wolwarans, Ester Wolmarans and Wynand Wolmarans.
