Busisiwe dies after stabbing

Police urge man to report to nearest police station.

Secunda Police are currently looking for Velly Vincent Mcunu who they believe can help with information about the murder of a woman in Secunda yesterday.

Busisiwe Precious Mkhabela (39) was stabbed with a knife in her upper body several times on January 2 at about 16:30 at her home in Paardekraal Street in Secunda.

The police and other emergency services were called to the scene and Mkhabela was certified dead.

She allegedly shared the house with her partner and her cousin.

Her cousin, who was not home during the ordeal, arrived shortly after the incident.

According to information the police received, Mkhabela’s partner did not show up since the murder.

The police suspect that Mcunu, who can help with the investigation, is still in the area.

They requested Mcunu to report to the nearest police station and they urged anybody with information about Mcunu’s whereabouts to contact Lieutenant-Colonel Abraham Skhosana on 082 465 2352 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.

A team of investigators, under the leadership of the provincial commissioner of the police in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant-General Semakaleng Manamela are hard at work to find and arrest the perpetrator.

The general has expressed her condolences to the family of the victim while vowing that police will ensure the suspect is hunted down and soon brought to book.

Busisiswe Precious Mkhabela (39) died yesterday afternoon when she was allegedly stabbed with a knife.
