The Delta 1 Rescue Diving team retrieved the body of a man from the Trichardspruit Dam near the picnic area (opposite Builders Warehouse) at around 10:25 this morning, December 1.

The decomposing body was discovered floating in the Trichardspruit Dam by people setting up for a picnic function at around 09:00.

Although it has not yet been confirmed by the police nor the family, it is suspected that it is the body of Malusi Fortunate (Max) Mbuyane (32), who went missing at the picnic spot on November 25 between 18:00 and 19:00.

Police and ER24 were also on scene.

The Ridge Times have made contact with a family member of Max who said they had seen a post on social media shared by other local media before they were even informed.
