Trichardt farmer finds body of murdered woman

A woman was found murdered at Langsloot Farm near Zwakfontein, Trichardt, on Sunday, October 8.

The farmer contacted the police at about 08:00 to report that a woman was lying next to his fence.

The cops found the body of an African woman aged between 20 and 35 years lying face down in the grass.

Her upper body was covered in blood from multiple stab wounds to her head, stomach and hands. The blood was already dry. Paramedics declared her dead on the scene.

The woman was wearing blue denim pants and a floral blouse, but no shoes.

According to Sergeant Valencia Mashaba, communication officer of Trichardt SAPS, it appears the woman was stabbed elsewhere and her body dumped at the farm.

A pair of shoes, blood and a soft drink were found several kilometres from where the body was found. The local criminal records centre (LCRC known as the forensic unit) took them for further investigation.

Mashaba said the woman is light in complexion, about 1,4m tall and chubby.

The deceased’s identity is still unknown.
