Firefighters extinguish burning vehicle on the P185 near Unicor Dam
A mechanic was apparently test driving the bakkie when it caught fire.
Govan Mbeki Municipality’s Fire Department responded to the scene of a burning vehicle, on the Evander Road next to the Unicor Dam, after 17:00 this evening, August 22.
According to information received the vehicle was being test driven by a mechanic when it suddenly caught fire.
The fire from the vehicle set the veld along side it alight.
The driver was fortunate to escape unharmed.
Firefighters managed to extinguish both the vehicle and veld fire.
A safety tip from GMM Fire Department is that having a portable fire extinguisher in the vehicle could save the vehicle from severe damage.
