Parkrunners go pink for Women’s Day in Standerton

Altogether 53 people took on the 5km route of whom seven improved their personal best times, and two participants were new to the event.

Several participants of the 205th River Park parkrun in Standerton donned pink on August 12 to celebrate women.

Altogether 53 people took on the 5km route of whom seven improved their personal best times, and two participants were new to the event.

Tshiamo Lephoto finished the run in 16:58. Marno Oosthuizen set a new personal best time of 20:06.

Mbuso Mazibuku cross the finish line in a time of 25:51, followed by Theo Schönfeldt (26:23), Wassie Rossouw (26:50), JD van Niekerk with a personal best of 26:58, Johan Ferreira (27:40),Pieter Grobbelaar (28:03), Riaan Dippenaar with a personal best time of 28:43, Andrew Ainsworth (29:12), Thikolelwi Collins Mudau and Parth Jayram (31:59).

The 14 volunteers who made this run possible, are Antoinette Herbst, Elmien Vermaak, Elna Vermaak, Frans Vermaak, Krishnalal (Johnny) Ramdharee, Lizette Jansen van Rensburg, Lydia Roets, Priscilla Ramdharee, Renette de Sousa, Ruwan Vermaak, Séan Jansen van Rensburg, Sylvy Moodley, Wessel Herbst and Zeldine Strydom.
The parkrun takes place every Saturday at 08:00.
