Highveld Ridge SPCA benefits from donations at archery competition

Competitors gave dog and cat food as an entry fee in the Laerskool Trichardt archery competition. The food collected was given the Highveld Ridge SPCA.

The participants of an archery competition at Laerskool Trichardt on July 22 brought dog and cat food as part of the entry fee.

All the collected food went to the Highveld Ridge SPCA. The SPCA houses more than 110 cats, kittens, adult dogs, and puppies that need forever homes.

The SPCA relies solely on food donations and finances from businesses and the public.

Their fuel costs amount to R15 000. They cannot attend to cruelty reports and animals in distress without vehicles.

There are also the accumulated vet bills totalling R35 000. These bills are from animals needing medical care.

The SPCA can issue an 18A tax certificate on request for any cash donated. You can claim this back on your annual tax return.
