The suspect was charged with drug dealing and appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on July 20.

The provincial commissioner of the SAPS, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela, welcomed the arrest and appreciated the job done by the police and the whistleblower.

According to Manamela, the police would not tolerate drug trafficking.

“We have noted with concern that often those who abuse drugs are somehow involved in the commission of crime such as theft and housebreaking. By arresting alleged drug peddlers, we address the root cause,” Manamela said.
