Gate motors stolen in Meyerville, Standerton

Several households fell victim to thieves, with Strydom, George, Robert and Esselen streets targeted.

Kasselman Security Services (KSS) sent information on June 29 about gate motor theft in Meyerville, Standerton.

Several households fell victim to thieves, with Strydom, George, Robert and Esselen streets targeted.

Thieves stole the gate motor’s battery and PC board on Landau Street.

According to KSS, the incident happened between 01:00 and 05:00.

In 2021, KSS provided safety tips to prevent this type of theft during load-shedding. They said the gate motor thefts would increase because many people sought the batteries.

Consider the following:

• Install a secure bracket.

• Remember, have an alternative access point, not just the electric motor.

Gate motor batteries will start to fail, so if it was your only access, emergency services and security cannot enter, should they need to.
