ATC Cullinan shines at Arnold Classic

The team achieved 26 medals, comprising eight bronzes, 11 silvers, and seven golds.

The anticipated Arnold Classic Tournament 2023 arrived much to the excitement of fans and athletes. Participants across SA gathered on May 23 to participate in this Korean martial arts event.

“As the gates opened, remnants of frost were still visible on the grass, and puddles from the previous day’s rain dotted the landscape,” said Sunae Nortjé.

ATC Cullinan presented a team of 10 athletes who competed in various divisions at the Arnold Classic held at Ruimsig Stadium in Roodepoort.

The ATC team achieved 26 medals, comprising eight bronzes, 11 silvers, and seven golds. Theuns Rossouw won silver for patterns.

Leon van Rooyen received silver for point sparring and gold for continuous sparring. Chantané Bouwer received silver for pattern, point sparring and weapon sparring.

She also received gold for continuous sparring. Zion Alexander received a bronze for patterns, a silver for weapon patterns and a gold for weapon sparring.

Don Stewart received silver for weapon sparring and point sparring.

Ryan Stevenson received bronzes for patterns and continuous sparring.

Wilmarié Fourie received gold for patterns and a bronze each for weapon patterns and point sparring. Leon Nortjé received a bronze for patterns and continuous sparring and a silver for weapon patterns and point sparring.


Hadassah Alexander.

Hadassah Alexander received bronze for patterns and gold for weapon patterns and point sparring. Nortjé received gold for patterns and silver for sparring.

The instructor of ATC Cullinan, Justin Collett, congratulated the participants.
