Mkhwanazi-murder case in Standerton is ongoing

Police apprehended Sthembiso Mbhokane and Bafana Mbhokane in connection with murder, while Radebe was initially only charged with possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.

Sibusiso Radebe appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, March 24 for a formal bail application in the Mkhwanazi-murder case.

Surprise Mnqobi Mkhwanazi went missing on July 18 last year and his body was found in the Vaal River.

Reports indicated that he was kidnapped.

Police apprehended Sthembiso Mbhokane and Bafana Mbhokane in connection with murder, while Radebe was initially only charged with possession of an illegal firearm
and ammunition.

A murder charge was added to Radebe’s docket.

The ANC’s Women’s League demonstrated in front of the court on more than one occasion, voicing their opposition to the granting of bail.

Captain Gibi Mtsweni, communications officer of Standerton Police, confirmed on March 24 that Radebe is out on bail.

The next court appearance is scheduled for March 28.

According to a trusted source, they are still thinking which steps should be taken to ensure justice is served at the end of the day.

A petition in which bail was opposed, was signed by a total of a thousand people.
