eMzinoni man appears in Bethal court for the murder of his girlfriend
According to the police, the victim was stabbed five times in front of her 10-year-old child.
A 45-year-old man appeared in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court on January 5 in connection with his girlfriend’s murder.
According to Sergeant Cynthia Mtsweni, the man allegedly stabbed his girlfriend five times in front of her 10-year-old. The crime took place in Mandela Section, eMzinoni, on December 26.
Mtsweni said the suspect and deceased were allegedly fighting before he stabbed her.
The man then went to the woman’s brother and allegedly confessed to stabbing her. He also told the brother he was going to kill himself.
Mtsweni said the suspect’s family handed him over to the police, and he was arrested and charged with murder.
His case has been postponed to January 12 for a formal bail application.
