Rayton Chess Club hosts tournament

Adriaan Kruger (11) played all the winners of each division wining them all to earn him the tournament trophy.

A total of 22 chess players competed in a classic chess tournament hosted by Rayton Chess Club on May 28.

Rayton Chess Club also introduced time chess, three-player chess, scenario chess and four-player chess as an expo to the community.

The tournament was changing for the young chess players but everyone had loads of fun.

The third place winners were Jayson Breytebach, Kobus Schoeman, Dawed Dickens, Leam Stevenson and Ryan Bosch.

The second place winners were Petro Erasmus, Noah Alexander, Levi Alexander, Zion Alexander and Shawn Alexander.

The first place winners were Leandri Cronje, Adriaan Kruger, San-Mari Duvenhage, Michael van Wyk and Shawn Kruger.

Rayton Chess Club will host at least one more tournament this year and will include the other games of chess

The club is thanking the community for making this event a success with a special thanks given to Rayton Christian church for letting Rayton Chess Club use their venue.
