Two people died and fine others have been seriously injured in a collision between a minibus and a light motor vehicle at the intersection of Nelson Mandela and Oliver Tambo Drives in Secunda last night, June 4.
Ross Campbell, spokesman for ER24, said ER24 paramedics were on the scene at around 23:00 along with the Fire Department, the police and other private services.
“A man was found in the driver’s seat of the light motor vehicle showing no signs of life. He was declared dead on arrival.
A woman was found inside the taxi, also showing no signs of life and was also declared dead on arrival by ER24.
“Five other adult patients were found having suffered serious injuries – four of them lying in the road having been ejected from the taxi.”
Campbell said advanced life support interventions were required to stabilise the injured before they were transported to Evander Hospital for further care.
