Secunda Magistrate’s Court postpones Christopher Watson’s case

When Watson left the stand to go back to his holding cell, he made brief contact with his loved ones who were there to support him.

Christopher Watson, the man accused of the brutal murder of his ex-girlfriend and mother of his child, made a brief court appearance in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, February 22.

The case was postponed to March 22.

He remains behind bars.

His bail application was abandoned in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on November 17, 2021.

Angelique Fourie (27) was found murdered in her home in a Terra Nova Village complex in Trichardt on November 7.

Her autopsy results revealed that she had been stabbed multiple times.

Watson had fled the scene and handed himself over to the Norkem Park Police Station in Kempton Park on November 9, 2021.

He was escorted back to Secunda where he is currently being held at Bethal Prison.

In his recent court appearance, Watson once again appeared with his bible in hand and a plaited beard and cap.

When Watson left the stand to go back to his holding cell, he made brief contact with his loved ones who were there to support him.

This was an upsetting moment for Fourie’s supporters who wore their shirts “Stop GBV against women and children (at the back) and Justice for Angie (in the front)”.
