NPO organisation assists children and adults in eMzinoni

Besides reaching out to a community in need of food and clothing, the foundation also has a mentorship program creating awareness around GBV, cyber bullying and other life related issues.

Local non-profitable organisation Indawo Yosizo Foundation helps needy children and adults with food and mentorship programmes and other life-related issues.

The foundation collects old clothes, school uniforms and blankets which get washed before handing them out to the vulnerable and underprivileged.

They also collect nonperishable foods, canned foods, basic food essentials, sanitary pads, toiletries, hygiene products such as underarm roll-on, deodorant and soap as well as building materials.

The Indawo Yosizo Foundation also has a soup kitchen that provides cooked meals for needy children and the elderly.

Founder of the non-profitable organisation, Zanele Gwebu said: “People don’t wake up and write a plan to be lazy, poor, raped, unemployed or abused. These are some of the reactionary conditions that push people to this reality.

“We believe that it takes one word to change the lives of many #Ngiyafisa (I wish),” said Gwebu.

She said it is a duty to give unprivileged and vulnerable children a life many never had as children.

Besides reaching out to a community in need of food and clothes, the foundation also has a mentorship programme creating awareness around GBV, cyberbullying and other life-related issues.

The Indawo Yosizo Foundation, together with sponsors and Bethal Police went to three local schools on Monday, February 7, namely the Kwagalagde Primary School, Tjebisa Primary School and Friedman Primary School.

Learners were treated to dignity packs that included toothpaste, sanitary pads (for the girls), soap and roll-on.
