Standerton’s home team beats Barberton City Stars FC 4-1

Lekwa City is home again this coming Saturday in a must-win match, hosting Witbank City Lads at 3pm.

Lekwa City FC won their last match with 4 goals to 1 against Barberton City Stars FC at the Sakhile Stadium on Saturday, 15 May.

They were leading by 2 goals to 0 in the first half, after Mtho ‘Miro’ Shabangu and Mzo Madela scored.

Lekwa City came back to score another two goals in the second half when Vusi ‘Fish’ Mofokeng and Mzimkhulu ‘Thsasa’ Tshabalala scored.

Barberton City Stars FC scored their consolidation goal through a penalty towards the end of the 90 minutes.

The result of the Wednesday match on 12 May against KaNyamazane All Stars in Mbombela was 1-0.

Lekwa City is home again this coming Saturday in a must-win match, hosting Witbank City Lads at 3pm.

If they want to survive the relegation and maintain the Mpumalanga ABC Motsepe-status, the last two remaining matches must be won.

They need six points.

Their log-standing is second from last in position 8 with 13 points after playing 14 matches.

Witbank City Lads are at position 7 with 15 points.

“It is a do or die for Lekwa City, they must go all out,” their spokesman said.

Their last match is an away-game against Benfica FC at Bushbuck Ridge on 29 May.
