Sasol Secunda’s cricket teams beat Bethal and eMba

Juniors and seniors play cricket at Secunda

SECUNDA – The Sasol Spartans and the Bethal Little Bears’ U/15 teams faced one another on Saturday, 27 March during a cricket match and Sasol scored 144 for two and won the match with 77 runs.

The top scorers for Sasol were Live Betala who made 57 runs, not out and Tiaan Rabie who made 37 runs, not out.

Betala was also the best bowler for Sasol.

He bowled four overs and took two wickets for 12 runs.

The Bethal Little Bears made 67/7 in their 20 overs and their top scorer was Wihan Fourie who scored 27 runs not out.

The Sasol Vipers and eMbalenhle’s U/19 teams tackled one another and the Vipers won the match.

The Vipers won the toss and decided to bat first.

They scored 129/2 in their 20 overs and Ruan Jacobs was the top scorer with 56 runs.

Byron Howe was the Sasol Vipers’ best bowler with three wickets for eight runs in 3.3 overs.

eMbalenhle managed to score 93 runs, all out.

The Sasol Vipers’ U/15 team played against eMbalenhle on Saturday afternoon and eMbalenhle beat them with 10 wickets.

Sasol 1 Secunda played against Bethal Bears on Sunday, 28 March and Sasol 1 smashed eMba with 224/2 in 20 overs.

George Louw of Sasol 1 scored 120 runs, not out and Johan van Antwerpen made 50 runs before he was caught out.

The Bethal Bears was bowled out for 76 runs with JP Nel taking six wickets on debut for the club, including a hat trick.

Sasol 1 won the match with 148 runs.

The Sasol 2 Bulldogs faced eMbalenhle in the afternoon match and the Bulldogs won with 18 runs.
