Standerton Police appoints new communications officer

He was promoted to warrant officer in 2010 and the work involved working in various units, including border policing and crime intelligence.

Standerton Police’s new communications officer, W/O Nkosinati Khanyile officially began working in March this year.

W/O Khanyile is a product of Thuto-Thebe Secondary School in Sakhile, thereafter a school in Verulam and a managerial diploma at Gert Sibande College in Standerton followed.

He burns the midnight oil however.

As a Unisa-student, courses for his diploma in policing mean juggling a few balls in the air. “It is quite challenging,” he admitted.

His career began in 2004 when he was appointed as constable.

He was promoted to warrant officer in 2010 and the work involved working in various units, including border policing and crime intelligence.

“I always wanted to be a policeman,” he said.

Memories of his father, who passed away in 1989, inspired the following response:

“I think he was proud when I joined the police force.”

As a firm Kaizer Chiefs supporter, the years in the middle field at Thandeka Primary School belong to the past, instead he now jogs.

No interview with a policeman will be complete without the upholder of the law asking the community to report any suspicious activity.

“I enjoy assisting the community in combating crime,” he added.

His vision for the community and police is clear and simple.

“Respect the police and work with us because without the community, we won’t be able to function.”

W/O Nkosinati Khnayile manages media liaison for the Standerton Police.
