Sihle wants to give hope to his peers

Philosophy and ontology might sound like big words for many teenagers, but not for the 16-year-old aspiring philosopher and writer Siphesihle Louw.

MILAN PARK – Siphesihle Louw (16), Grade 10 pupil from iKhethelo Secondary School, hopes to publish his first book next June.

The book is addressing various issues about life, nature and human divinity.

He believes there are many unanswered questions in life such as what is life.

His book is aimed at trying to answer those questions.

“Scientists have tried to answer these questions, but the answers do not satisfy me.

“With this book I want to give the view of an ordinary young person.

“The fact that we are failing to answer many questions about life, proves that life is divine.

“We need divine intervention to understand life.”

Siphesihle wants to become a philosopher and to learn more about ontology.

He said many teenagers spend their time and energy in entertainment and substance abuse which make him wonder what the future holds for his fellow teens.

Siphesihle is a devoted Christian and a member of the International Pentecostal Church.

He said prayer and meditation keep him focused and sober minded.

“As a philosopher and a writer it is important to have a positive mind, therefore I use meditation to clear my thoughts.

“Through meditation I am able tap into the spiritual world and at times even foresee what the future holds for me.

“It is a very important practice in my faith and religion.”
