Sanco ready to fight illegal evictions
The Sheriff of the Court has posted notice boards informing illegal land invaders to vacate the land before 31 October or they will face evictions.
KINROSS – Sanco says they will fight for the Zondagkraal 125 IS and Ward 20 illegal land invaders if the municipality evict them unlawfully.
This was after the Sherriff of the Court has posted notice boards regarding evictions that will take place on Friday, 31 October.
Sanco claims that the municipality has not served any notices to the parties they represent.
Mr Sol Vilakazi, regional deputy chairman of Sanco, said they have obtained a court order that prohibits the municipality from evicting these people.
He said according to the court the municipality must reserve the eviction notice.
Mr Henry Masango, head of communication and marketing, said the municipality will follow the order granted by Justice Jordaan which allows the municipality to evict the illegal land invaders.
“Council cannot tolerate the high increase of land invasion in the area.”
