Video – Strong wind feeds fire

SECUNDA – Strong wind made fires in Secunda worse on Thursday, 28 August.

According to a source, pupils of pre-primary schools just outside Sasol’s entrance to Charlie 1 near Marietjie School had to evacuate their schools because the fire was too close.

The fire department tried to extinguish the fire with one small truck and two firemen.

The fire spread to the road to Charlie 5 and according to a source, people’s cars were damaged after they had driven through the fire.

Possible injuries to humans and animals could not be confirmed.
