Cattle electrocuted in Extension 32 due to illegal connections

Whenever municipal employees disconnect illegal connections, community members simply re-connect the wires the same day. An additional three cattle were electrocuted as they grazed near live-wire fences in Silindile in Lothair in December.

The carcasses of cattle that were electrocuted when they became entangled in loose wires from illegal connections, were discovered in Extension 32 in Ermelo.

According to Mr Mandla Zwane, spokesman of Msukaligwa Local Municipality, the problem of illegal connections has not yet been resolved.
