Ermelo Shalom Marathon Club runners compete in Comrades Marathon

It was a first attempt at the Comrades Marathon for some, and all but one finished in the cut-off time.

More than 10 runners from the Shalom Marathon Club participated in this year’s Comrades Marathon.

All but one runner completed the approximately 89km from Pietermaritzburg to Durban on Sunday, 10 June.

The Shalom runners posted the following scores:

• Petros Ndlangamandla 8:00,48

• Themba Rasta Nkosi 8:51,57

• Bheki Shongwe 9:58,47

• Hlangwane Molifi 9:59,00

• Jeff Madihlaba 10:14,48

• Themba Nzuza 10:23,42

• Russell Sibiya 10:46,09

• Makhosonke Dladla10:59,49

• Nomvula Mthethwa 11:43,06

• Nzu Nhlabathi 11:10,51

• Shadrack Nhlapho 11:52,34

It was a dream come true for some of the runners who, in their first attempt at the world’s largest and oldest ultra-marathon race, finished in the cut-off time.
