Alleged unlicensed driver involved in accident in Beyers Naudé

Driver loses control of the vehicle after wheels come off.

An alleged unlicensed driver, crashed into another vehicle in Beyers Naudé Street on 24 June.

According to the police, the driver of the Volkswagen Golf does not have a driver’s license and when the car’s right back wheel came off, he lost control of the vehicle and it swerved towards the middle of the road.

The Golf was driving towards the CBD and according to eyewitnesses, two passengers apparently ran away from the scene.

Marks on the road illustrate what happened.

Mr Moses Kubheka, driver of the Mercedes Benz, was driving towards the Junxion Centre and noticed the oncoming car that subsequently hit his vehicle on the right side.

No injuries were reported.

The driver of the Golf was taken to the Standerton Police Station and an accident report was filed.
