Hitchhikers still use the same spots

However, the situation has not changed, people still stand next to the road hoping to catch a lift from the passing vehicles

The situation in Nelson Mandela Drive and Baumann Street has not improved, vehicles still stop in areas where they are not supposed to and pick up hitchhikers.

These motorists disregard the no stopping signs and pull over.

In the Standerton Advertiser published on 15 April, Ms Thobeka Mtshiselwa, communications manager at the Lekwa Municipality, said traffic officers always have operational plans and do patrol regularly in the said areas.

However, people still stand next to the road hoping to catch a lift from the passing vehicles.
