Breaking news – Three boys drown near Thuthukani

According to Capt Grobler, boys’ clothes were discovered next to the dam.

Three boys between the ages of 8 and 10 drowned in a dam near Thuthukani on 30 November.

According to Lt Fanie Nhlabathi, communications officer of the Standerton Police, the boys were swimming when the incident occurred.

The Middelburg and the White River Diving Squads removed the bodies from the dam late last night.

“I only managed to remove one body from the the dam and struggled to find the other two bodies,” Capt Johann Grobler of the Middelburg Diving Squad said.

He also said he did not have the equipment and enough human resources and called the White River Diving Squad for assistance.

The two other bodies were retrieved after the diving squad arrived on the scene.

According to Capt Grobler, boys’ clothes were discovered next to the dam.

An inquest has been has opened at the Standerton Police.
