Department of Justice reaches out

Young and old attended this event aimed at educating the community about maintenance.

The Department of Justice and Constitutional Development reached out to the Sakhile community on 14 August.

The department held a Maintenance Awareness Campaign at the Sakhile Hall to educate the community about issues regarding maintenance.

Young and old attended this event.

It was also aimed at informing the community about the different services that the department offers.

It includes issues relating to estates (customary marriages), domestic violence and harassment, small claims court, child justice (trafficking) and the equality court.

This event provided residents with information that will improve their lives.

Legal Aid South Africa was also present during the event.

The department also wanted the community to air their views about the justices.

The South African Police, judiciary, Gert Sibande District Municipality, Department of Health and Department of Social Development were in attendance.
