Choirs compete to represent Mpumalanga

Mpumalanga Choral Music Association invites residents to the National Choir Festival Provincial Elimination Competition on 2 August.

SECUNDA – The Mpumalanga Choral Music Association will host the National Choir Festival Provincial Elimination Competition on Friday 2 August at the Johannes Stegmann Theatre.

Various choirs from Mpumalanga, such as Ermelo and Mkhuhlu, will take part in this competition.

They will be competing in two categories, namely the standard category and the large category.

The standard category caters for 30 to 48 choristers and the large one for 49 to 60 choristers.

The choir that wins the standard category will get a trophy and money and will represent the province at the national competition that will be held in Durban on Friday, 6 December.

The large category winners will also win a trophy and money and will qualify to take part in the 2014 National Choral Music Choirs league and compete with other provinces.

There will also be prizes for those coming second and thrird.
