“Resolutions made at council meetings will be implemented.”

The sale of the municipal houses occupied by municipal employees, will continue according to the recent council resolution.

According to Mr Sipho Mkwanazi, municipal spokesman, a date for the sale has not been set yet.

“The sale of these houses will be advertised in the local newspaper.”

He said every resolution made during council meetings, will be implemented.

According Mr Pierre Schnetler, Ward 10 councillor, the municipality have about 11 houses.

The municipality want to sell all the houses belonging to them, because they cannot maintain them.

The mayor, Ms Caroline Morajane, made a recommendation that two houses should not be sold.

One house will be converted into office space and the other into a mayoral guesthouse.

The guesthouse will be used to entertain guests, such as those from the provincial government, visiting the mayor and the speaker, Mr Linda Dhlamini.

The opposition parties are against this resolution, saying it is an unnecessary luxury.
