Standerton becomes too ‘holy’

Open holes in Coligny and Beyers Naudé Street pose a danger to motorists and pedestrians alike.

An open hole in Coligny Street poses a danger to pedestrians and motorists alike.

The hole, about three metres in diameter, is not barricaded and anybody passing during the night, will find themselves at the bottom.

Motorists are also at risk after the soil removed from the hole, was dumped in the road and oncoming drivers have to swerve to avoid it.

The same problem can be found on the corner of Schwickard and Beyers Naudé Street.

Although the hole has been barricaded, a large chunk of tar has been removed from Beyers Naudé Street and motorists have to drive into the next lane to avoid it.

Beyers Naudé Street is a busy road and cars can not always move over into the next lane on time.
